Since everyone is cancelling Netflix, we thought we would take the time to give you some alternatives for streaming shows and movies.
If you are new to the #CancelNetflix movement, I'll give you a little back story: Netflix has announced the airing of Cuties. Directed by Maïmouna Doucouré, Cuties is a movie that sexualizes young girls. The movie follows an 11-year-old girl living in Paris who dreams of joining a local dance group. She decides to protest her parents’ strict household and join the other girls in dancing (in a provocative manner) their way through competitions. The movement came to light on Social Media when a change.org movement started, initiated by Kelsi Swift. Kelsi Stated "As Netflix has chosen to ignore the petition and the wishes of its customers, I feel we need to band together and cancel our subscriptions!" The entertainment industry is trying really hard right now to normalize pedophilia and even after several Netflix customers have cried out in disgust over the new movie, they have refused to take it down. So we looked for some Netflix alternatives, if you decide to #CancelNetflix too! 1. Amazon Prime
Prime Video, also marketed as Amazon Prime Video, is an American Internet video on demand service that is developed, owned, and operated by Amazon.
2. Hulu
Hulu is an American subscription video on demand service fully controlled and majority-owned by Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International, a business segment of The Walt Disney Company, with NBC Universal, owned by Comcast, as an equity stakeholder.
3. Acorn TV
Acorn TV is an American subscription video streaming service offering television programming from the United Kingdom, as well as Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and Mexico. It is available on a variety of devices including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku.
4. Pluto TV
Pluto TV is an American internet television service owned by Viacom CBS. Co-founded by Tom Ryan, Ilya Pozin and Nick Grouf in 2013 and based in Los Angeles, California, Pluto is a free, advertiser-supported video on demand (AVOD) service that primarily offers a selection of programming content through digital linear channels designed to emulate the experience of traditional broadcast programming.
5. Apple TV Plus
Apple TV+ content is viewable through Apple's website and through Apple's TV app, which in 2019 expanded its availability to numerous consumer electronics devices, including those of Apple's competitors, with further plans to expand availability to more devices over time.
