Meet Actress, Model and Performer Christine Lee
What are your goals?
I just moved to LA and am interested in building my acting/modeling career here. My main focus has been circus performing over the past 14 years and I want to continue performing/acting at the same time- finding gigs where I get to perform and act are the holy grail!
What/who inspires you?
So many people inspire me, people who follow their heart and passion without following the norm is what gets me most excited.
I performed with a circus troupe for two years in Turks in Caicos in the Caribbean, it's such a beautiful and magical place and I loved living there. For career and passion, LA is perfect and I'm so excited I moved here during quarantine.
What did you want to be as a child?
I wanted to be a vet because I love animals, my "dream job" would have been to be the first Asian Britney Spears- I always saw Caucasian pop stars and wanted Asian American representation. Too bad I can't sing, so going down the acting/modeling route is just a perfect outlet for this.
How long have you been modeling?
I did my first commercial 10 years ago, and I've been more seriously going down this route for 3 years. Most of my modeling has been circus specific but I've also been doing print ads for roles like "young mom", "yoga instructor", etc.
What is your focus/genre?
Circus is my main focus and genre but I feel that I have a lot of range in my look. I've done commercials where I've been a cheerleader, sorority girl, pregnant CEO, tech worker, girlfriend, young mom, astronaut, stunts person, etc.
What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was taking the leap of faith to follow my passion 12 years ago. I was working at Microsoft in NYC 14 years ago and followed a very corporate route, what I realized is that life is short and I want to do what I'm most excited about- which was training, performing and teaching in the circus.
Funniest Situation you’ve ever been in?
I was in Times Square in NYC and a family came up running up to in tears saying they've been loving my TV show and I had no idea what they were talking about, eventually I realized they thought I was Brenda Song from the Disney Channel so I gave a hug and a kiss to the kids and walked away before they could get any photos, but have a really positive memory and feeling about their NYC experience.
What about your style makes you so unique?
I think my approach to acting/modeling is unique in that I never set out to be an actress or model, in fact I thought it would never be a reality. I started by being a circus performer and artist and was asked to do a commercial for Honda to do acrobatics, and this is what opened doors for me. This is when I realized that I have more range as a performer and had so much fun doing it.
