New York City comprises 5 boroughs sitting where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that’s among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. Broadway theater is staged in neon-lit Times Square.

With so much to see and do, it's not possible to see it all. Especially while on vacation, so we narrowed it down for you.

Here are the top 5 MUST see attractions when visiting NYC.

1. Statue of Liberty

Picture
The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World; French: La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor within New York City. Designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel.

2. Time Square

Times Square is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment center, and neighborhood in the Midtown Manhattan section of New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. Brightly lit by numerous billboards and advertisements, it stretches from West 42nd to West 47th Streets and is sometimes referred to as "the Crossroads of the World".

3. Central Park

Central Park is a park in New York City located between the Upper West and Upper East Sides of Manhattan. It is the fifth-largest park in the city by area, covering 843 acres. It is the most visited park in the United States with an estimated 38 million visitors annually, and is the most filmed location in the world.

4. Top of the Rock Observation Deck

When planning your trip to NYC, Top of the Rock Observation Deck should be at the top of your list. You’ll be 70 floors up, with both indoor and outdoor viewing decks that offer breathtaking 360-degree views of the city. And, because you’re right in the heart of Rockefeller Center, you’ll be able to enjoy the best shopping, dining, and entertainment in Midtown as well.

5. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City, colloquially "the Met", is the largest art museum in the United States. With 6,479,548 visitors to its three locations in 2019, it was the fourth most visited art museum in the world.
